Our History

Sussex Insurance was founded by Ken Armstrong in 1976 with the opening of its first location in North Vancouver. Ken Armstrong introduced the concept of franchising to the British Columbia insurance industry in 1989, with the opening of the first franchise office on Granville Street in Vancouver. Today, Sussex Insurance operates 53 offices throughout BC, with locations inside The Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart, T&T Stores, and Save On Foods. We are proud that 1 in 14 British Columbians transacts their Autoplan at a Sussex Insurance location.
