Welcome to Hub Motor Service, a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the Abbotsford community since 1954. Our company, which was originally established as Siemens Garage Ltd., has been passed down through the generations, and we take great pride in our heritage and our commitment to providing exceptional automotive services.
Our business started when Peter and Mary Siemens, along with their ten children, moved from Strathmore, Alberta to Abbotsford. Peter and Mary had immigrated to Canada as teenagers from Mennonite colonies in Russia, but they met and married in Manitoba. In 1954, Peter and his sons established Hub Motor Service in its present downtown Abbotsford location. Peter's son Jake purchased the business in 1965, and Jake's son Ross purchased the business in 1994. Today, Ross and his wife Kelly, along with a team of experienced and knowledgeable professionals, continue to uphold the values and traditions that have made Hub Motor Service a trusted name in automotive services.
Our Services
At Hub Motor Service, we offer a wide range of automotive services, including vehicle repair, maintenance, and inspections. Our team of fully licensed automotive technicians has the expertise and knowledge to handle all your vehicle maintenance and repair needs. We provide customized maintenance programs, oil changes, and vehicle inspections, and we offer free customer delivery and pickup. We have five service bays and are open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
We are an independent chain with no affiliation or obligation to any one supplier, which allows us to shop around and pass the savings on to our customers, ensuring that we provide the most competitive prices. Our team is committed to providing honest, transparent, and high-quality services, and we take pride in our workmanship and our commitment to customer satisfaction.
Our Team
Our team is led by Jake Siemens, who started serving our customers in 1954 while attending high school. Jake is a fully licensed automotive technician and vehicle inspector, and he has served our customers for 56 years before his retirement in the fall of 2010. Jake still comes by the shop on a regular basis to assist where needed.
Ross Siemens, who purchased the "family" business in 1994, serves on Abbotsford City Council since 2014. He and his wife Kelly have two daughters, Ashley and Alexandra. When Ross has some down time, he enjoys hiking, biking, running, and taking walks with Kelly on the many trails in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
Ed Wong, our Service Manager, joined our team in January 2021. He has 25 years of experience in managing a busy automotive repair shop in Vancouver. Ed is an avid hockey player, and he enjoys building and repairing hot rods, maintaining a fleet of classic automobiles, and participating in practical jokes.
Myron Warkentin, who started his career with us in 1983, is a fully licensed automotive technician and vehicle inspector. Myron and his wife Yvonne have two children. When Myron isn't at the shop, he enjoys dirt bike riding and spending time "glamping" (glamour camping) with friends and family in their trailer.
Michael Warkentin, who followed in his father's footsteps, joined our team in 2016. He is a fully licensed Red Seal Automotive Technician and vehicle inspector. Michael enjoys spending time mountain biking, dirt biking, 4x4ing, and camping in the mountains.
Shawn Siemens, who specializes in Customer Service, joined us in 2019. Shawn has a Bachelor Degree in Media Arts from UFV.
Corey Polson, who brings his lifelong passion for mechanics to Hub Motor Service, is an indispensable part of our team. He has expertise in engine diagnostics and a knack for bringing vehicles back to peak performance.

Convenience and Service
The convenience store at Hub Motors is described as being handy downtown with friendly service and good gas prices by Kim. On the other hand, authors Kit Kat and Mohammad P. Kaveh had negative experiences with the service, including issues with accepting legal tender and poor communication.
Quality of Work
Authors Heidi Penner, Edwin Mulder, and Candice Christison all had positive experiences with the work done at Hub Motors, citing fast service and excellent advice. However, authors Kit Kat, Mohammad P. Kaveh, and Shelley Cameron had negative experiences, including issues with oil changes, seasonal checks, and repairs.
Communication and Follow-up
Authors Kit Kat, Mohammad P. Kaveh, and Shelley Cameron were unhappy with the communication and follow-up given to them regarding their issues. Kit Kat's paper money was refused, Mohammad P. Kaveh's car was not properly serviced, and Shelley Cameron's car's noise issue was not resolved.
Overall Experience
Authors John Savvas, Heidi Penner, Edwin Mulder, and Candice Christison were all satisfied with their overall experience at Hub Motors, while authors Kit Kat, Mohammad P. Kaveh, and Shelley Cameron were not.
