At O.K. Before & After School Child Care Centres Inc., we are dedicated to providing high-quality, licensed care for children from infancy to 12 years of age. Our programs are designed to promote early childhood education and development through child-led play and exploration, fostering a strong foundation for future success.
Our Story
In 1980, the Seven Oaks School Division identified a need for before and after school child care, and the North YM/YWCA responded by opening three programs in 1981. Since then, we have grown to provide care to approximately 288 children across five locations in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our team of dedicated educators supports children's eager minds with curiosity, reflection, time, and space, engaging them to their fullest potential.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs tailored to meet the unique needs of children at different stages of development:
- Infant Program (12 weeks to 2 years): A nurturing environment that promotes curiosity and exploration, with a focus on building trust and security.
- Preschool Program (2-5 years): A play-based program that encourages social, emotional, and cognitive development, with an emphasis on creativity and self-expression.
- Kindergarten Program (4-5 years): A program that prepares children for kindergarten, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- School Age Program (6-12 years): A program that provides a safe and engaging environment for children to develop their skills and interests, with a focus on homework support, outdoor play, and socialization.
