Learn, Grow, Explore, Thrive
We are Fairview Child Care Centre, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years old. Our mission is to foster the social, emotional, and creative development of our children, promoting independence, curiosity, and positive verbal communication skills.
Our History
Our journey began in 1971 when our founders, Ann Marie O'Brien and Margaret Spiers (better known as Peggy), opened the first child care centre in the Township of Gloucester. We have since moved to several locations, expanding our services to meet the growing needs of our community. In 2012, we transformed from a Preschool/Kindergarten Aged program to a Toddler/Preschool program with the emergence of full-day kindergarten. Today, we proudly offer care for 15 toddlers and 32 preschoolers within our community.
Our Programs
We offer three programs catering to the unique needs of our young students:
- Toddler Program: For children aged 18 months to 30 months, our Toddler Program is designed to promote independence, curiosity, and positive verbal communication skills. Our program is licensed for 15 toddlers with 3 teachers.
- Junior Preschool Program: For children aged 30 months to 3 years, our Junior Preschool Program focuses on developing social and emotional skills through play-based learning and exploration. Our program is licensed for 32 children, divided into two groups of 16 children and two educators.
- Senior Preschool Program: For children aged 3 to 5 years, our Senior Preschool Program builds on the skills developed in our Junior Preschool Program, introducing more complex social and emotional skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Our program is licensed for 32 children, divided into two groups of 16 children and two educators.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to promote the development of our children's social, emotional, and creative skills. We follow the Ministry guidelines and incorporate stimulating and educational activities based on HDLH (How Does Learning Happen?). Our teachers work closely with the interests of the children to develop both structured and non-structured activities, promoting growth in all areas of development. Our programs are designed to be flexible and adaptable, changing according to the children's interests and needs.
Our Services
We provide a range of services to support the well-being and development of our children. These include:
- Educational activities and play-based learning
- Nutritious meals and snacks
- A safe and welcoming environment
- Opportunities for socialization and group play
- Communication and consultation with parents
