Empowering You To Live Fully

Healing Quest Counselling operates as a trauma-informed practice serving Maple Ridge and clients across British Columbia through online care. Under the leadership of Registered Clinical Social Worker Kirsten Boulier, we provide therapeutic support for trauma, anxiety disorders, burnout, dissociation, ADHD in adulthood, grief experiences, and attachment-related concerns. We have intentionally shaped our services to meet the needs of individuals whose internal struggles may not always be visible externally.

In our sessions, we integrate EMDR, somatic modalities, parts-informed therapies including IFS and DNMS, and expressive arts interventions. Our work extends beyond insight-oriented dialogue, addressing how trauma and ongoing stress alter nervous system patterns, attention, and relationship dynamics. Many who engage with us describe high-functioning anxiety, persistent people-pleasing, trauma-related shutdown, or a sense of emotional disconnection. We prioritize a collaborative therapeutic alliance, ensuring that progress unfolds at a measured pace and is supported by education about nervous system regulation. Clients may meet with us in person at our Maple Ridge location or participate in virtual counselling from any community within British Columbia.

Trauma therapy in our practice centres on helping you regain a sense of steadiness and internal security after overwhelming or chronic stress. Experiences such as relational misattunement, medical trauma, or inherited survival patterns can leave enduring nervous system imprints. We begin with stabilization and regulation, recognizing that meaningful processing requires adequate support. Through EMDR, somatic therapy, parts-based integration, and expressive modalities, we guide careful exploration that honours grief while fostering resilience and choice.
Our work begins with exploring how anxiety functions within both mind and body. When the nervous system remains on high alert due to stress or earlier experiences, symptoms can persist despite conscious efforts to manage them. We focus on increasing capacity, reducing shame, and strengthening practical tools so you can respond to life with greater choice.
We understand that living with ADHD can be discouraging and overwhelming, particularly after years of being told to simply try harder. Challenges with focus, task initiation, emotional regulation, and follow-through often lead to stress and self-criticism. In therapy, we help you understand your nervous system and reduce accumulated shame. Our work supports practical strategies that honour your strengths and foster steadier self-trust.
Loss can affect your sense of identity, relationships, and future, and the emotional impact may feel complex or enduring. When grief intersects with shock, helplessness, or unresolved attachment ruptures, the body can continue reacting as though the event is still present. We provide counselling that prioritizes nervous system regulation and thoughtful trauma-informed processing. Together, we create space for acceptance, relational exploration, and gradual integration of your experience.
Dissociation often develops when the nervous system needs distance from experiences that felt too intense to manage. You may notice lost time, internal conflict, sudden emotional shifts, or feeling detached from yourself or your surroundings. In our practice, we prioritize grounding, regulation, and safety. Therapy progresses gradually, fostering integration and internal cooperation without forcing memories or overwhelming exposure.
Depression may surface as heaviness, fatigue, concentration challenges, or a quiet sense of disconnection. We approach these experiences with the understanding that the body sometimes shifts into shutdown in response to ongoing stress, loss, or overwhelm. By combining EMDR, body-based awareness, parts work, and attachment-informed counselling, we support meaningful change. Our focus includes building nervous system flexibility, reducing shame, and gently increasing capacity. Because depression has diverse origins, we recognize the importance of individualized care, including medical evaluation where relevant.
At Healing Quest Counselling, we recognize that burnout extends far beyond ordinary fatigue. It can present as ongoing exhaustion, emotional depletion, irritability, and a sense of disconnection from work or relationships. Through a regulation-focused approach, we support nervous system stabilization, sustainable boundaries, and the gradual restoration of energy. Our work helps recalibrate capacity and rebuild engagement over time.

I bring exploratory curiosity to my trauma therapy practice and absolutely love getting to know clients through their own lens. Every person has a unique story to tell, and learning about each clients resiliency and lived experience is a privilege I deeply respect.

I provide trauma therapy services to youth and adults across BC (online) and see clients in-person in Maple Ridge, BC. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies. I believe that healing is possible - and that it can happen at a safe, steady pace.

Kirsten brings such a calming presence to the space. It felt really easy to trust her. Very genuine and empathetic. I love how many awesome "tools" (emdr, mindfulness, tapping ...) we have used in sessions. Healing our messy isn't easy, and Kirsten is surely gifted at helping us navigate 'our mess'. I'm def thankful to found therapy again
