Unititing for a healthier tomorrow, one needle at a time.

At the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), we are dedicated to promoting Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Canada. Since our inception in 1983, we have been working tirelessly to lobby for regulation of TCM and Acupuncture, ensuring the best interests of the public and protecting the high repute of the TCM community.

Our History

Established in 1983, CMAAC is a non-profit organisation that has been promoting the TCM/A profession on both provincial and federal levels. In 1987, CMAAC became a member of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), an international organisation recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO). Our objectives include educating the public about TCM/A, supporting TCM/A practitioners, sharing best practices, collaborating between Eastern and Western medicine, establishing high professional standards for TCM/A, promoting TCM/A in Canada and internationally, and providing a united voice for the TCM/A profession in Canada.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to support our members and the public. These include discounts for insurance, continuing education seminars and workshops with a wide range of presenters, professional advocacy, website highlights of recent CMAAC activities and information to members, e-Newsletters with the latest developments in TCM/A, provincial representatives across Canada, and mentoring future leaders. Our website also provides a membership newsletter signup, corporate advertising information, and navigation to different sections of our website.

Our Commitment

We are committed to promoting TCM and Acupuncture in Canada and internationally. We have achieved great success in educating the public about TCM/A, supporting TCM/A practitioners, and establishing high professional standards for TCM/A. We have fostered alliances with the provincial and federal governments and assist the Ministry of Health on many assignments. Our members have united behind a code of ethics, making TCM and Acupuncture a valuable part of mainstream culture.
