Empowering individuals, Enriching Community
Our Story
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Peterborough is a feminist, abolitionist organization that believes in the liberation of women and gender-diverse people from oppression of all kinds. Our organization is committed to providing a wide range of services and programs that address the complex needs of our community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide support and resources to individuals who are marginalized and oppressed, with a focus on women and gender-diverse people. We believe that systemic inequities driven by racism and colonialism, and their consequences, including poverty, violence, trauma, mental illness, and substance use, lead to criminalization. We are dedicated to addressing these issues through our programs and services, which include community supports, education and employment, health and mental health, housing, food, and financial supports, and more.
