Continuing the Tradition - Dedicated to Serve

At Leson's Funeral Home, we believe that every life is unique and deserves to be celebrated in a special way. That's why we're dedicated to providing the highest quality funeral service in accordance with the wishes of those we serve. Our mission is to do so in an atmosphere of dignity and respect, supporting professional standards.

Our History

Established in 1963, our funeral home has been a staple in the community for over 50 years. Over the years, we've expanded to over 10,000 square feet, making us one of the largest and most modern funeral homes in the area. Our chapel can accommodate up to 300 people, with modern video projection and audio systems, ensuring that every service is memorable and dignified. Our "Family Centre" or main floor reception area can seat 150 people, with an overflow lower-level luncheon room seating 80 people. Our courteous staff prepares and serves lunches and dinners, providing a comforting atmosphere for families to gather and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

Our Services

We understand that every family is unique, and that's why we offer a range of services to cater to their individual needs. From traditional funeral services to cremation and memorial services, we're dedicated to providing a personalized and compassionate experience. Our licensed funeral directors, embalmers, and certified celebrants work closely with families to create a meaningful and memorable service that honors their loved one. We also offer a range of merchandise, including caskets, urns, and monuments, to help families create a lasting tribute. Our resources section provides families with access to grief support, planning insights, and helpful links to local florists and other organizations.

Our Staff

Our team is made up of experienced and compassionate professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional service. Shannon Leson, our funeral director, embalmer, and salesperson, has over 28 years of experience in the funeral service industry. He's actively involved in the community, serving as a board member trustee for the Good Spirit School Division, a member of the Canora Golf and Country Club, and the Canora Trakkers Snowmobile Club. Shawna Leson, our licensed funeral director, certified celebrant, and grief specialist, has a passion for making a difference in people's lives. She's a trained teacher and has worked within the Good Spirit School Division before joining the funeral home. Together, they're committed to providing a compassionate and respectful experience for every family they serve.
