Our Services
As a member of Ashburn, you'll have access to two challenging 18-hole golf courses, both with comprehensive practice facilities. Our Old Course, designed by Stanley Thompson, is minutes from downtown Halifax and offers spectacular views of the city. The New Course, designed by Geoffrey Cornish, is located about 35 km north of Halifax in Fall River and provides a championship layout beside Kinsac Lake. Both courses are guaranteed to challenge golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Our modern clubhouse, with its dramatic location overlooking the open and closing holes on the course, is the perfect setting for a corporate meeting, anniversary, family celebration, or wedding.
Our History
Ashburn has played a significant role in Halifax's history, with our club being formed as the Halifax Golf and Country Club in 1922. Over the years, we've hosted many distinguished luminaries, including Jean Chretien, Bill Clinton, Gordie Howe, and Babe Ruth, as well as Canadian golf stars George Knudson and Moe Norman.
In 1999, our clubhouse for Old Ashburn was demolished, making way for the modern facility that exists today. The New Course at Ashburn was developed in 1958, with the official opening in 1970. Since then, we've hosted many national and provincial championships, as well as two Web.com Tour events and two world-class exhibitions featuring the likes of Matt Kuchar, Tom Watson, Mike Weir, and Graham DeLaet.
Today, our club is led by General Manager Gordie Smith, a member of the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame. We're committed to providing an exceptional private golf experience, combined with outstanding membership benefits and opportunities for socializing and community building.
