CBM Psychological & Counselling Services: Who We Are

CBM Psychological & Counselling Services is a private psychology and counselling practice dedicated to providing support for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing challenging situations. Our integrated team consists of highly trained and qualified mental health and educational professionals with many years of experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds. We are located in Durham region and serve the areas of Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Scarborough, and surrounding communities.

Psycho-educational/Psychological Assessment

Our team of registered psychologists provides comprehensive psycho-educational and psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Assessments can help identify learning strengths and weaknesses, cognitive abilities, and other factors that may be impacting an individual's academic, occupational, or social functioning. Based on assessment results, we provide recommendations for academic accommodations, interventions, and coping strategies to support individual success.

Individual Counselling/Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy

We offer individual counselling and psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, and adults. Our therapy methods include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psycho-dynamic Psychotherapy, Family/Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). For children, we offer play therapy and art therapy to help them express their emotions and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Couples Counselling

Couples counselling is available for those seeking to strengthen their relationship or resolve conflicts. Our experienced therapists use evidence-based approaches to help couples improve communication, build trust, and enhance intimacy.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a collaborative approach that involves the entire family in the therapeutic process. Our therapists work with families to identify and address the underlying issues contributing to conflict or disconnection. By improving communication and strengthening relationships, families can learn to support each other and navigate challenges more effectively.

Clinical Consultation

Clinical consultation is available for mental health and education professionals seeking guidance and support in their work with clients. Our experienced clinicians provide consultation services on a variety of topics, including assessment, intervention, and treatment planning.

Low-Cost Counselling Services

At CBM Psychological & Counselling Services, we believe that everyone deserves access to mental health support. We offer low-cost counselling services for those who may not have the financial resources to access private therapy. Our low-cost services are provided by trained and supervised graduate students in psychology and social work, who work under the direction of our experienced clinical team.
