At the Oakville Golf Club, we are proud to have been a part of the Oakville community for nearly a century. Established in 1921, our private, membership-owned club has a rich history and a strong sense of tradition. We are located on 56 acres of land in the heart of Oakville, making us easily accessible from most residential neighborhoods.
Our History
Our story began when a group of local businessmen, including E.T. (Ted) Lightbourn, decided to establish a golf club in Oakville. Lightbourn, a founding member and first president from 1921 to 1932, was instrumental in bringing the club to life. His wife and four children were all charter members, and his youngest daughter, Ruth, even founded the local school, St. Mildred's-Lightbourn. The club's early days were marked by a passion for golf and a commitment to community.
Our Facilities
Our nine-hole golf course is immaculately maintained and offers a challenging but enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. With a slope rating of 131 and long par 4's, our course is a good test of golf. Best of all, it's easy to fit in a game after work on a summer's eve, with many holes able to be completed in under two hours.
