Katies Korner Childcare is a leading provider of high-quality childcare services in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. With a rich history spanning over three decades, our owners, Leeann and Billy Billman, have dedicated their lives to the enrichment and development of children in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. As certified Early Childhood Educators from Malaspina University-College (now VIU), Leeann and Billy have infused their passion for childcare into the very fabric of Katies Korner Childcare.

Our philosophy revolves around the understanding that children learn best through play. We have designed our licensed group care programs to cater to the needs of the whole family, with offerings ranging from infant care to after-school programs. At Katies Korner Childcare, we view each child as a unique individual with their own learning style, and our qualified Early Childhood Educators strive to provide an engaging, supportive, and inclusive environment that fosters growth and development for all.

Our Centres: A Home Away From Home

At Katies Korner Childcare, we offer several centres to serve the diverse needs of Nanaimo families:

• Infant/Toddler Care Program (3-36 months): Our Infant/Toddler Care Program provides a safe and nurturing space for children from three months to three years old. With a focus on creating strong bonds between caregivers and children, our educators work closely with parents to ensure a smooth transition for both the child and the family.

• Preschool and Group Care Program (30 months-5 years): Our Preschool and Group Care Program is designed to prepare children aged thirty months to five years old for the transition to school. This program emphasizes the development of essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills through age-appropriate play-based learning activities.

• After-School Care Program (6-12 years): Our After-School Care Program provides a stimulating environment for children aged six to twelve years old. This program includes supervised activities, quiet time for homework, and opportunities for physical play in a safe and supportive setting.
