Unlock the power of your mind and transform your life

As a Registered Psychologist with 29 years of clinical experience and 11 years of graduate education and training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and depth psychology, Dr. Robert Pogue is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective therapy services to individuals and couples in need. Our practice is focused on helping adults and adolescents navigate various emotional and relational challenges, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), psychodynamic, and emotion-focused psychotherapies.

Understanding the Complexity of Human Emotions

Dr. Pogue's extensive experience and training have equipped him with a deep understanding of the complexities of human emotions and the ways in which they can manifest in various aspects of life. He recognizes that emotional problems, marital and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, and loss can have a profound impact on an individual's well-being and relationships. Moreover, he is cognizant of the fact that childhood traumas, such as sexual, physical, and emotional abuse and neglect, can have lasting effects on a person's self-esteem, identity, and overall mental health.

The Power of Romantic Love and Father Hunger

Dr. Pogue's practice also explores the mysteries of romantic love and the significance of father presence in a child's life. His study on "Father Hunger" examines the ways in which the physical and emotional absence of a father can influence a child's psychological development, and how this can manifest in adulthood. Additionally, his work on the psychology of romantic love seeks to understand the images, mystery, and meaning of romantic love, as compared to the forms of love that exist in long-term, committed relationships.
